Configuring notification preferences

Before you start using the notification service, configure your notification preferences to define the operations that will initiate the notifications that you want to receive. You may also edit your selected document subscriptions.

Workspace-wide notification preferences are configured by workspace privileged users or by a system administrator. These preferences are used as the default for all users (unless they have defined their own) and all notifications.

To configure your notification preferences:

  1. While in a workspace, click your name in the tab strip. On the menu that appears, click Settings. The configuration tree appears in the left pane.
  2. In the configuration tree, expand the workspace name, expand your user name, and click Notification preferences. Your notification preferences options appear.
  3. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

Send frequency

Specifies when notifications are sent.

On folders and On documents

Select which actions will trigger notifications. The selected actions are also shown in the What's new view as described in Understanding the What's new view.

  1. Clicking Save notification preferences. You can revert to the workspace-wide preferences by clicking Revert to default preferences.

To edit your selected document subscriptions:

  1. While in a workspace, click your name in the tab strip. On the shortcut menu that appears, click Settings. The configuration tree appears in the left pane.
  2. In the configuration tree, expand the workspace name, expand your user name, and select Notification preferences. Your notification preferences options appear.
  3. Click Edit subscriptions. A page listing all of the documents to which you are currently subscribed appears.
  4. Select the documents from which you want to unsubscribe and click Unsubscribe selected. The page refreshes to show the updated document list.
